Normally, a water-based detergent is mixed in a bucket. There is no exact formula for this concoction, and it depends on the nature of the shampoo or the detergent being used at that particular time.
This is just to make sure that the concoction that has been just prepared doesn’t harm the fabric of the sofa. A cloth is dabbed, and the detergent-water mix is applied to a small part of your sofa. We let the solution sit on that particular spot for about 10 minutes and then we clean the area. After the thorough cleaning, you will need to leave the sofa undisturbed to let it dry with natural air. If you want, you can switch on the fan and the dehumidifier of your AC to quicken the process. Don’t use the sofa for a few hours until it is completely dried.
If there are particular spots that need extra shampooing, spot-treat them with the nozzle. However, don’t over-shampoo any area, as it can result in permanent discoloration.
No amount of vacuuming with the button released will dry the fabric out. Just leave the sofa alone until it air dries completely.
