Sofa Shampoo

Your fabric sofa and upholstery need to be cleaned on a regular basis and the best way to clean your fabric sofa is through sofa shampoo cleaning. It is a delicate process. Although you can clean your fabric sofa with shampoo on your own, if you haven’t been doing it regularly, it can turn out to be a messy affair and instead of cleaning your sofa, you can end up with a dirtier sofa along with big mess at your home.

Our employees at our sofa cleaning service in Navi Mumbai have been performing sofa shampoo cleaning services for many years now and for them, cleaning a sofa is as simple as cleaning any other piece of cloth. Of course, the process is more complicated, and it takes lots of time. Below we explain how the sofa shampoo cleaning process works.

1. APPLYING THE PRE-CONDITIONER ON YOUR FABRIC SOFA

This is very important, and the problem is that the pre-conditioner that is used to clean a fabric sofa isn’t easily available in your neighbourhood shops and it needs to be sourced with great effort. Since we provide shampoo sofa cleaning services on an ongoing basis, we have an ample stock of this preconditioning agent.

Why is it used? It loosens up soil debris and decreases the viscosity of the oil stuck to the fabric, making it easier to remove it at the time of shampooing and washing.

2. MAKING A MIX OF THE DETERGENT AND WATER

Normally, a water-based detergent is mixed in a bucket. There is no exact formula for this concoction, and it depends on the nature of the shampoo or the detergent being used at that particular time.

3. SPOT TESTING THE DETERGENT SOLUTION ON A SINGLE SPOT ON YOUR FABRIC SOFA

This is just to make sure that the concoction that has been just prepared doesn’t harm the fabric of the sofa. A cloth is dabbed, and the detergent-water mix is applied to a small part of your sofa. We let the solution sit on that particular spot for about 10 minutes and then we clean the area. If there is no discolouration, we know that the detergent-water mix is safe to use and then we proceed with the rest.

4. APPLY THE SHAMPOO OR THE DETERGENT-WATER MIX WITH THE HELP OF A STEAM VACUUM

A steam vacuum is just like any other vacuum cleaner but when it is applied in this context, it gives out steam, or the liquid that has been put in its bucket, with great force. The mix of steam water and shampoo penetrates through the pores of your fabric sofa without harming it. The shampoo is applied to all the parts of the sofa with the steam vacuum.

Access shampoo is removed through suction.

5. REPEAT THE PROCESS OF FABRIC SOFA SHAMPOO CLEANING

Although most of your sofa is cleaned with the first round of steam vacuum application of the detergent-water makes the shampoo, if need be, you can repeat the process at places where you feel the sofa hasn’t yet been cleaned.

6. LET THE SOFA DRY AFTER THE FABRIC SOFA SHAMPOO CLEANING

After the thorough cleaning, you will need to leave the sofa undisturbed to let it dry with natural air. If you want, you can switch on the fan and the dehumidifier of your AC to quicken the process. Don’t use the sofa for a few hours until it is completely dried.

7. REPEAT THE PROCESS AS NECESSARY.

If there are particular spots that need extra shampooing, spot-treat them with the nozzle. However, don’t over-shampoo any area, as it can result in permanent discoloration.

8. LET THE SOFA AIR-DRY.

No amount of vacuuming with the button released will dry the fabric out. Just leave the sofa alone until it air dries completely.
